What do researchers do?
Vitae’s latest ground-breaking study ‘What do researchers do? First destinations of doctoral graduates by subject’ demonstrates that doctoral graduates continue to be highly employable across the economy in a wide range of occupations.
The study shows that doctoral graduates are prized within and outside the higher education sector. They fulfill very diverse roles using either their specialist or high level generic skills, or both.
Of particular interest in this document are the most common career paths of doctoral graduate by their subject area, but the entire document contains a huge amount of very interesting statistics.

Targeted specifically at the postgraduate audience, the articles and links featured in this new section should make it easy for you to start planning your future.
Two posts ago I highlighted research being done by the CIHE which showed how employer demand for postgraduate skills has increased. However, to capitalise on that demand and your skills you have to first identify those skills. Then you have to sell those skills to the potential employer.
In the feature article on Graduate Junction, you can read top tips on putting together your CV along with links to lots of other useful resources.
